Normal delivery is the birth of the baby through the vagina. We generally advise the expecting mothers to remain active during the course of pregnancy and opt for some light exercises or yoga which increases the chances of a normal delivery unless contraindicated. Normal delivery can be either spontaneous i.e. you start experiencing labor pain and contractions naturally or in case you have completed full term of pregnancy labor pain can be induced through medicines and injections by the gynaecologist.

Surgery & Recovery
As soon as you experience the labor pain you are advised to report to the hospital alongwith all your medical records for admission. Unlike other surgeries where you need to undergo a battery of investigations called pre anaesthesia tests, here most of the tests have already been done during the course of the pregnancy hence are not repeated. However you will be advised a simple CBC test.
In case of normal delivery you are shifted to LDR suite in the hospital which is just like a room but is equipped with all necessary facilities for a normal delivery. Your stay in the hospital is for two days after which you are discharged and advised date for a follow up visit with both gynaecologist and paediatrician.
Cost and Facilitation
Cost of a normal delivery at Vardhman Hospital in a single deluxe room is approximately INR 40,000 which includes stay in the hospital for two days. The package includes the cost of the stay, nursing charges, patient meals, labor room charges, gynaecologist fee, paediatrician fee, cost of medicine and consumables. However in case you opt for a painless delivery using epidural pain management, cost of the same would be over and above the package. Similarly if you need a blood transfusion then the cost of blood product would be extra.
If the gynaecologist terms the delivery as high risk delivery then the package rates won’t be applicable and the cost would be higher than a routine caesarean delivery. Cost of stay of the baby in NICU in case of pre term delivery would also be on actual.
