Instead of X-ray film, digital radiography uses a digital image capture device. The gives advantages of immediate image preview and availability; elimination of film processing steps; a wider dynamic range as well as the ability to apply special image processing techniques that enhance overall display of the image.

CT Scan

Computerized tomography scan helps the doctor to diagnose and treat a lot of conditions. It  is a rapid and high resolution imaging of the body within few seconds, which is a  necessity for trauma cases.

MRI Scan

The MRI scanner is one of the most advanced equipments available for the  body imaging. It helps in ruling out spinal abnormalities and enables diagnosis of various spinal disorders. MRI is commonly used for injuries around the knee joint in which ligamentous injuries are suspected. DEXA scanning focuses on two main areas, the hip and spine. Although osteoporosis involves the whole body, measurements of BMD at one site can be predictive of fractures at other sites. Scanning generally takes 10 to 20 minutes to complete and is painless.The absolute amount of bone as measured by bone mineral density (BMD) testing generally correlates with bone strength. It is possible to predict fracture risk.

Osteoporosis is a disease in which the bones are not as strong as normal bone. Osteoporosis increases the risk of breaking bones  with even minor trauma.

BMD analysis is recommended for women between ages 50 and 65 with risk factors for osteoporosis and for all women over the age of 65. In addition, men and women taking certain medications or having certain diseases should discuss testing with their doctor.

Unfortunately, people often are unaware until either they have a fracture or have a screening test ordered by their doctor to check for osteoporosis. Women are four times more likely to develop osteoporosis than men. Also popularly known as the C-Arm, the image intensifier are the eyes to an orthopaedic surgeon.
